Week of Welcome 2013 (formerly New Student Welcome) will provide incoming first year and transfer undergraduate students, as well as returning students, with a wide variety of exciting curricular and co-curricular opportunities. Please note the following:
If you are hosting a student event during the following times:
Fri. Aug. 23, 2-5 p.m.
Sat. Aug. 24, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. or 10:30 - Midnight
Sun. Aug. 25 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Please contact Colin Spaulding (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that your event can be advertised on the CU Events Calendar and the "In the Mix" website. To ensure that your event will be seen by incoming studets who attend June or July orienation sessions, please submit by June 7 at noon.
To maximize the effectiveness of Week of Welcome events, we request that other events NOT be scheduled during the following times:
Thur. Aug. 22
Dinner and first mandatory residence hall floor meeting, 5 - 8 p.m.
Ice & Dice, 8 - midnight
Fri. Aug. 23
Chancellors's Convocation, 11 a.m. - noon
Global Jam, noon - 2 p.m.
Dinner and second mandatory residence hall floor meeting, 5:30 - 8 p.m.
UMC Wlecome Fest, 8 - midnight
Sat. Aug 24
Welcome Back Concert, 6 - 10:30 p.m.
The major events listed above are considered mandatory for all new students, including both freshmen and transfer students. Ice & Dice, UMC Welcome Fest, and the Welcome Back Concert are open to all CU Students.
