The campus Background Check Policy has been updated effective April 15, 2013 to improve clarity and consistency, enhance efficiencies, and to ensure the requirements in the policy support our ongoing goal to protect employees, students and assets.
A new important addition to the policy is the self-disclosure requirement. All current employees are required to self-disclose post-employment criminal convictions or felony charges filed against them within three days of the conviction or charge. Employees with driving responsibilities are also required to self-disclose suspension or revocation of driver’s license within three business days. Employees failing to self-disclose may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Self-disclosure must be made to the Department of Human Resources, Background Check unit.
