Sports physiologist, nutritionist and Skratch Labs founder Allen Lim to speak at CU

Trying to improve athletic performance this upcoming season? Come listen to sports physiologist, nutritionist and Skratch Labs founder Allen Lim speak at the University of Colorado on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.

A guest of the CU Triathlon club sport team, Lim will speak about nutrition and the multisport lifestyle in the Benson Earth Sciences building, room 180. A Q&A session will conclude the talk.

Tickets are $10 with proceeds going to the CU Triathlon team as they try for national championship No. 14 this coming April. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

Lim received his Ph.D. from CU in 2004. He went on to work as a sports scientist for numerous professional cycling teams. Working with athletes such at Taylor Phinney, Evelyn Stevens, Dave Zabriske and Christian Vande Velde. Most recently Lim founded Skratch Labs, a performance food and drink company that uses real ingredients for a better tasting product.

The CU Triathlon team is a student run club sports team for both men and women. Created in 1993, the team has won 13 collegiate national championships through USA Triathlon (USAT), most recently in 2010, 2011 and 2012. With over 100 due-paying members, potluck dinners, summer ultimate Frisbee games, team hikes and volunteer adventures the team is more than just a team; it is a family.
