Do today's gaming technologies contribute to new understandings of religion and spirituality? Two prominent experts in religion and media will explore that question in a presentation called "Sinners, Saints and Gamers" Monday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m. in Humanities 250. The presentation, sponsored by CU Journalism & Mass Communication and the Department of Religious Studies will explore the history of religion and gaming, games as religious practice, and how today's game technologies might intersect with new understandings of religion and spirituality.
Panelist James Anthony is senior editor at Time Inc. and a game designer who works at the intersection of games and ritual. Panelist Rachel Wagner is an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Ithaca College where her work centers on the study of religion and culture, including religion and virtual reality.
