Join us for a noontime walk

CU walks at noon
CU Walks invites you to take a break and go for a lunchtime walk on campus!
We start our walk Monday-Friday at 12 noon from the west side of Carlson Gym, near the Rec Center. Our goal is to promote physical activity and community on campus. We are a collaboration of students, faculty and staff in the Integrative Physiology Department and the Recreation Center. For more information go to

CU Walks wants to encourage individuals in the CU community to obtain the physical and mental health benefits from physical activity. Our vision is to provide a free, safe, convenient and social recreational opportunity for the CU community. Our group has established a scenic and safe 1.5 mile loop, roughly thirty minutes of walking, through the University of Colorado Boulder campus. 

The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that at a minimum, every individual should get 150 minutes of moderate physical activity a week. People who meet this recommendation have lower rates of diabetes, heart disease and obesity. This recommendation can be met through walking for thirty minutes, five times a week.
