Federally subsidized student loans set to double

Federally subsidized student loans are set to automatically double from 3.4 to 6.8 percent on July 1. A number of bills and proposals are being considered by Congress, and a compromise may be reached next week to avoid the automatic doubling of rates. The University will continue to keep you appraised of major developments regarding student loan interest rate increases.
