Sieber will present on effective uses of Google+ in hybridized courses at the 16th Colorado Learning and Teaching with Technology (COLTT) conference. She will bring practical and ready-to-use suggestions on student fieldwork assignments, real-time video interaction, timely classroom assessment techniques and more, including wide-open MOOC experiences. Her experiences are based on results from a Google Apps for Education study and have been tested in higher education classrooms. Dr. Sieber will also suggest ways in which Google+ or alternative social network tools might be deployed.
Currently the Associate Dean for Education in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU-Boulder, Sieber's primary research focus is IT and Education. Her particular interests are in social networks for improved learning and community-building, game theory and education, and mobile apps for education. She is a President's Teaching Scholar and winner of multiple teaching awards.
