Brad Cloepfil, founding principal of Allied Works Architecture, will give a lecture titled, "The Limiting Field", discussing recent projects in the U.S. and abroad, as well as the ideas and principles that form the basis of the firm's work. As architect of the Clyfford Still Museum, Cloepfil will focus on how these were realized in the museum's design and construction, and will discuss the challenges, opportunities and lessons of creating a single-artist museum in Denver's Civic Center.
Earlier this semester, students in the Program in Environmental Design got a private tour of Denver's Clyfford Still Museum to get a first hand view of the textured concrete that forms the primary building envelope, interior walls and structural system of the building. The students were on a field trip with ENVD faculty, Brian Cook and David Kahn, looking at different potential materials for their Burke Park Design Build Studio and Materials and the Landscape class.
Please join the Program in Environmental Design as well as the American Institute of Architects North Chapter and Saunders Construction who have co sponsored this free lecture at 5:47 p.m. and free reception starting at 5 p.m. in the Environmental Design building.
