ASSETT is pleased to announce two learning communities aimed at leveraging digital technologies to improve teaching and learning. Applications are now being accepted for the Teaching with Technology or the Hybrid and Online Course Design Seminars at https://sparc.colorado.edu/digital-learning-communities/

Teaching with Technology Faculty Seminar 

ASSETT, OIT, and the University Libraries welcome applicants for the Spring 2013 Teaching with Technology Seminar for faculty in tenure-track, instructor, or lecturer ranks. (Lecturers are eligible to apply if they have taught at CU 4 of the past 5 semesters). Past applicants are welcome to reapply. The seminar meets for two hours, 7 - 8 times during the course of the semester. A maximum of 10 faculty will be selected to participate. Selected faculty will be expected to participate in all sessions (co-leading one of them), to contribute to an online forum on teaching and learning with technology, and to create a final product or resource useful to other teaching faculty on campus. Each participant will receive a $2,000 stipend for their professional use, transferred to an appropriate CU-Boulder campus speedtype. Faculty should be teaching or have access to a course during Spring, Summer or Fall of 2013.

The deadline for to apply for the fall seminar is August 12, 2013. To apply, go online to https://sparc.colorado.edu/digital-learning-communities/ and enter the following: (1) your contact information, (2) 1-2 page statement indicating your interest and experience in this area, (3) specific topics of interest, and (4) the week day times (M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) you are typically available to meet.

Hybrid and Online Course Design Faculty Seminar 

ASSETT is launching a new initiative to support the design of high quality hybrid and online courses in the College of Arts and Sciences. To this end, we welcome applicants for the Fall 2013 Hybrid and Online Course Design Seminar for faculty in tenure-track or instructor ranks. The seminar will meet for two hours, 6-8 times during the course of the semester. Selected faculty will be expected to participate in all sessions, to contribute to an online forum, and to produce a full hybrid or online course design by the end of the seminar. Each participant will receive a $2,000 stipend for their professional use, transferred to an appropriate CU-Boulder campus speedtype. Faculty should be teaching or have access to a course during Fall 2013 or Spring 2014.
