Broadway/Euclid improvements complete; celebration to honor funding partners
The city is proud to announce the completion of multimodal improvements on Broadway between Euclid Avenue and 18th Street! To celebrate this milestone, the city will be hosting a project completion celebration from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, on the east side of the new Broadway/Euclid underpass. The public is invited to attend.

The total project budget was $7.4 million with $3.4 million in federal transportation funds. The local match for this project was composed of funding from the City of Boulder, the University of Colorado, Boulder County, RTD and Colorado Department of Transportation.
“We really could not have done this without our project partners,” said Director of Public Works for Transportation Tracy Winfree. “This project represents the largest number of local funding partners in a city transportation project.”
Most notably, the project constructed a new bicycle and pedestrian underpass beneath Broadway at Euclid Avenue. The project also:
- expanded transit stops on either side of Broadway;
- reconfigured the Broadway/Euclid/16th 4-way intersection into two “T” intersections; constructed a new signalized intersection at Broadway and 18th Street and a signalized pedestrian crossing at Broadway and 17th Street;
- made improvements to the Broadway multi-use path; and
- integrated public art, urban design, and landscaping to the surrounding area.
