The overall goal of the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering is to prepare students for careers as professional engineers. The curricula have been designed to qualify students for entry-level positions in professional practice in the areas of civil and environmental engineering. These broad area designations may be separated into the subdisciplines of building systems and energy management; construction engineering and management; environmental engineering; geotechnical engineering; mechanical systems; structural engineering and structural mechanics; and water resource engineering and management.
