Coordination

Each person follows their own “rules” or “logics of meaning and action” which have “logical force”
Constitutive rules: For interpreting meaning
Regulative rules: For appropriate behavior
People can coordinate even when their “rules” differ
Different “rules” can mesh ( communication can be “successful” despite “misunderstanding”)
New “rules” can be improvised
