For this informative speech you will research a career possibility based on your interests, educational, and extracurricular background. Include the following in your research focus:

  • Experimental, educational, and skill requirements

  • Actual job duties (day to day, calendar year)

  • Keys to career advancement

  • Salary ranges, employment opportunities, geographic locations

  • Professional associations and journals

  • Curricular and extracurricular university activities for preparation

Your research must include a minimum of six(6) sources. Include at least one(1) internet source, one(1) library source (magazine, newspaper, or journal article), and one(1) interview. List sources in the outline and bibliography using APA style. Use at least three(3) source citations in your speech("According to...").

Prepare a 5-7 minute speech, briefing the class about the most interesting facts you found in your research. Use a speech design to organize the body of your speech in an interesting manner. Create an interesting introduction and conclusion. Presentation aids are suggested to enhance the speech.

Notify your teacher if you need any visual or other equipment, at least one class meeting before your speech.

Construct a full-sentence preparation outline using the 3-part framework. Include transitions marked with an asterick. Identify expendable and expandable material. Also construct a key-word outline to use in delivering your speech. Mark the key-word outline with delivery cues.

For this speech, the outline counts as 20 percent of your overall speech grade.
