profile:
I am excited to teach public speaking this year. I am a consultant, teacher, and graduate student. In this work, I dabble in systems thinking but specialize in team building and collaborative learning. In my misspent youth, I taught playwriting and theatre studies, while I directed and produced my own plays. I received two master's degrees, one in Theatre and the other in English. My most interesting teaching experience was teaching at Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Just imagine an artist hanging out with engineers, wow! What I learned in those eight years is quite remarkable. Engineering project teams use the same basic design/team building process as a director does while directing a play. Armed with this insight into team dynamics, I am currently at CU doing graduate work in communication and collaborative learning. On a lighter note, I enjoy photography, hiking, biking, good jazz, good friends, and cooking good food.
