In Memory of Lanne Lancaster

Lanne Lancaster, our friend and colleague, passed away on February 19th. Her colleagues at the Consortium and ATHES would like to honor her memory with the following pictures and words. If you would like to add a picture or comment, please send it via e-mail to the Athes Webmaster:

Eulogy read for Lanne at her Memorial Service by her husband, Chuck

"One picture is from the Consortium meeting in Steamboat Springs, we were climbing over a fence to get back to our rooms. We had just walked into town and back and were to lazy to walk the extra block to the gate. I had just snapped Bea's back side and caught Lanne laughing." - Denise

"The one thing I remember about Lanne is her smile and her laugh. Many years ago all the Computer Access Center people were at a meeting in Keystone or somewhere by Keystone. We all got together one night in Susie Bell's room. Lanne and her husband were sharing stories and had us all in tears we were laughing so hard. I also remember that management called and asked if we could tone it down we were disturbing the neighbors. I think they called twice." -Denise

"The Halloween pictures were from last year. Our office dressed up to show our holiday spirit. Lanne, who was the interim director of CCA at that time, was the one that asked everyone to dress up." - Reniece

Obituary
(From Rocky Mtn News/ Denver Post)

Lanne Lancaster, 51, is survived by her husband Chuck Gould, sons Nathan and Ted Gould, and daughter-in-law Stephanie Gould. Her steadfast high-spirit and contagious smile made those who knew her feel honored for the experience. She worked at the Community College of Aurora helping both the disabled and the average student through the experience. Private services are to be held in Creede, CO. Her battle with melanoma did not end on a positive note, but her efforts for knowledge will make her path a less common one. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Melanoma Foundation, 3914 Murphey Canyon Rd., Suite A132, San Diego, CA 92123.
