Media Studies
Simon Hegelund is a first-year master’s student from Copenhagen, Denmark. He completed his bachelor’s degree in communication at the University of Colorado Boulder and chose to stay to pursue a graduate degree in media and public engagement. His decision was primarily due to the competent staff, but also because of the start-up friendly ecosystem of Boulder.
Hegelund is interested in discovering ways in which media theory and practice can facilitate and ultimately strengthen civic engagement and community building. Particularly, he is motivated to explore and design innovative initiatives to assist the progression of our global society and plans to utilize his knowledge and experience in the field of media to reach this goal.
