Shannon O'Sullivan is a third-year doctoral student in Media Studies. O'Sullivan's research interests focus on representations of the U.S. working class on television though the theoretical framework of intersectionality. She is also in the process of earning graduate certificates in Ethnic Studies and Women and Gender Studies. She received her master's degree in American Studies from the University at Buffalo in 2011, and her bachelor's degree in Journalism with a concentration in History from Buffalo State College in 2009. She taught Media Literacy, a core introductory course, at Buffalo State College from 2011-2013. She previously worked as a reporter and freelance contributor for a weekly business newspaper in Buffalo, NY.
