KTVB Idaho reporter and 2016 CMCI graduate Joe Parris received a Heartland Emmy at the 2016 awards ceremony for his reporting with CU Sports Mag. Parris received the Student Achievement award in the sports category in recognition for his work reporting for CU Boulder’s student-run sports broadcast outlet. Sports Mag allows student reporters to have access to sporting events and press conferences and conduct interviews with athletes and coaches.
Parris was among several CU students honored at the Heartland Emmys, which also recognized the university’s Athletics Department for its video editing and graphic designs. Parris shares the award with Instructor Paul Daugherty.
