For decades, CU-Boulder has led research efforts to understand global climate change and develop renewable energy sources—and for more than 40 years, our students, faculty, and staff have set new standards in sustainability through efforts like the nation’s first student-run environmental center and first collegiate recycling program. Today, we continue our leadership in climate, energy, and sustainability with national joint research institutes in climate change and renewable energy—and one of the most comprehensive campus conservation, green construction, zero-waste, and carbon reduction commitments ever made by a national public research university.
