Classics Major Adam Kay Garners Awards

Classics Junior Adam Kay has been winning all sorts of accolades, which redound to the greater glory of the department. On successive days Adam learned that he had won a prestigious writing award and a highly prized scholarship. With his essay "Sand Creek" Adam was one of only two undergraduates selected campus-wide to receive the Undergraduate Fiction Prize from the Center for the American West. He was also selected as one of the winners of CU's new Norlin scholarship, which will defray $1000 per year of his tuition for up to four years.

The scholarship puts Adam among a select group of CU students with proven academic abilities who were singled out for this prestigious new award. In addition, Adam is one of two CU undergraduates (see the story on Nichols Fellowships) whose essays will be published in the forthcoming proceedings of the First Annual ASCW Student Symposium.
