Every student who is a United States citizen OR U. S. PERMANENT RESIDENT will need to become a Colorado Resident (if not already one) Here at CU, in-state tuition is a lot cheaper than out-of-state, and the department doesn't want to pay the more expensive tuition if they don't have to. The steps to achieving residency begin when you first move (such as signing a lease and getting a CO drivers license), and in the summer after your first year is when you apply for in-state tuition classification.
For current information on this process, please go to the Tuition Classification webpage.
