The following sites provide information about alternative sources of funding if you do not wish to serve as a teaching assistant your first year.  If you arrive in the department with a fellowship already, you will have more time for your classes and research and greater flexibility of labs which you can join.  Also, this information is helpful if you would like to plan ahead for after your first year at CU.
