9/29 Announcements

1. Read Ch. 6, sections 4 & 5, for Monday's lecture.

2. Work Ch. 6 assigned problems 31, 32, 34, 43, 46.

3. We are covering through Study Guide section IV, concept area 2 today.

4. CORRECTION: Where concept area 2, item 5 says "... heat of the reaction ...", it should say "... heat transferred in a reaction ...". This change avoids any confusion between "... heat transferred in a reaction ..." (which can be at constant volume, constant pressure, or some other circumstances) and the "heat of reaction" (an enthalpy change measurable as heat transferred at constant pressure).
