9/13 Announcements

1. Read Ch. 4, Sec. 1-3

2. Work Ch. 4 assigned problems 3, 4, 6, 7, 14, 17, 20, 23, 25, 29 [the "solubility rules" (page 61 in Study Guide) will be useful for some problems]

3. "In-Class" Assignment (ICA) due Friday in lecture: work all missed problems on Math Proficiency Test (the Math Proficiency Test was returned in recitation 9/12)

4. Performance on ICA in Tuesday recitation was poor (many problems with volume units conversion). ICA assigned and due Friday in lecture. This ICA be averaged with Tuesday score to replace the Tuesday score AND count as another ICA by itself.

5. In Friday's lecture, there will be an ICA (individual, timed, closed book) on nomenclature (to prepare for EXAM #1).

6. CAPA #3 due Weds. 9/20 by 9:00 AM

7. EXAM #1 is now one week and one day away! It will cover through this Friday's lecture.

8. ConcepTests from the main section of 1111 are available on the Baker1111 web site without answers, with a link to the main 1111 web site for answers. These questions often show up on the multiple choice section of the exams.

9. Review session for EXAM #1 has changed! Now Wednesday 9/20 from 6-9 PM in Baker 206.
