Cloning

What is it?

The basic simplified technique for cloning involves removing the nucleus from an egg and replacing it with another nucleus taken from the donor cell.  See the figure below for more (taken from Gilbert, Scott. Development 6th Edition.  Sunderland, MA: Sinauer Associates, Inc: 2000).

 

 

These cloned cells will then develop into a exact replica of the original donor.
