This application contains
programs that will backtranslate (convert protein sequences to nucleotide
sequences). There are detailed
instructions about all the features on the site. The following instructions are just the basics.
Instructions:
1. Paste (Ctrl +
V) the sequence in the box labeled “Protein Sequence.”
You
may also type in a protein sequence in one-letter code.
2. Search for the organism
that the sequence belongs.
This
is done by clicking on the genetic code tab.
The genetic code tab is located next to the protein tab and the select
cut tab. The standard genetic code is
the default code used.
3. Select the correct
genetic code for your organism from the drop down menu.
4. Click on the output
tab to retrieve your results.
