The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers minors in either chemistry or biochemistry.
Below are the required courses to obtain a minor in either chemistry or biochemistry.
General Chemistry:
CHEM 1111 (5) and CHEM1131(5)
or
CHEM1151(5) and CHEM1171(5)
Organic Chemistry:
CHEM3311(4) with CHEM 3321(1)
CHEM3331(4) with CHEM3341(1)
Physical Chemistry:
CHEM4411(3) or CHEM 4511(3) Note: Phyisical Chemistry 1 has a prerequisite of calculus 3 and a prerequisite or corequisite of PHYS 1120(4).
Engineering students may substitute CHEM 4521 (3) to satisfy this requirement.
One of the Following:
Physical Chemistry 2 : CHEM 4431(3) or CHEM4531(3)
Inorganic Chemistry: CHEM 4011(3) Note: Phyisical Chemistry 1 prerequisite
Instrumental Analysis: CHEM 4171(3)
Engineering student who take CHEM 4521, should take CHEM 4011 or CHEM 4171 to complete their minor requirements.
