The research group has about one to two dozen members and frequent international visitors. After the first year of study, the graduate students are supported by research assistantships or their own scholarships. The work is currently supported by the NSF, DOE, NREL, Sumitomo, IBM, and USARO. The group is quite international. Many of the postdocs are from various European and other foreign countries, and more graduate students visit foreign laboratories for weeks or months to work on their projects. The group social life includes enjoyment of Colorado mountains during long-weekend group trips on skis or hiking and camping.
