Timothy D'ANDREA

Tim D'ANDREA

Tim D'Andrea is a graduate student from Philadelphia, who recieved a BS in chemistry from Ursinus College in 2003.

He is currently studying the oxidation of various hydrocarbon films with RAIRS (Reflection/Absorption Infrared Spectroscopy). These films are meant to model the surfaces of marine aerosols and the chemistry at the interface of these films has important atmospheric implications; namely, how a hydrophobic aerosol surface may be oxidized and transformed into a hydrophilic one.

Tim has also spent some time working Alan Maccarone on matrix isolation infrared spectrsocopy of some organic radicals.

Tim's my favorite thing to do in his spare time is skiing (That is why he has moved to Colorado!). He enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities and sports, and also plays the guitar with the Ricara Street House Band.
