EDUCATION: LABORATORY MODULES

Information about Particle Technology Laboratory Modules

As part of an effort to educate graduate students, undergraduates, and pre-college students on both the importance and science of particulate systems, the focus of this work is to develop laboratory demonstrations that illustrate several important concepts related to particle processes. In particular, a set of laboratory modules that illustrate the basic concepts of sedimentation, wall friction, and particle size segregation are currently under development.

These modules are being designed for use not only for courses directly related to particle technology, but also for core courses throughout the engineering curriculum. Furthermore, in conjunction with the Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory (ITLL) at the University of Colorado, these demonstrations will also be used for K-12 pre-engineering outreach activities.
