As recognition of his transformational contributions to the production of renewable/ sustainable hydrogen by splitting water using concentrated sunlight, Professor Al Weimer was given the 2015 AIChE Research Excellence in Sustainable Engineering Award.

Will Medlin Receives 2015 Dean’s Outstanding Research Award

September 14, 2015

The 2015 Dean’s Outstanding Research Award, based on excellence in research as assessed by annual evaluations, was bestowed upon Associate Professor Will Medlin. This college-wide honor includes a $5000 discretionary fund.

Professors Dan Schwartz and Rich Noble were the recipients of the Research Award in 2014 and 2013, respectively.

Kristi Anseth Named a 2016 ACS Arthur C. Cope Scholar

Distinguished Professor Kristi Anseth is the recipient of a 2016 ACS Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award. Consisting of a $40,000 unrestricted research grant, a $5,000 award and a certificate, this honor is given to recognize and encourage excellence in organic chemistry.

Al Weimer is 2015 AIChE NSEF Award Winner

Professor Alan Weimer has received the 2015 AIChE Nanoscale Science and Engineering Forum (NSEF) Award for his innovative nanoengineering work.

“The Award is presented to recognize Weimer’s pioneering contributions to the functionalization of fine particles by atomic layer deposition (Particle ALD) and the engineering scale-up of the processing,” stated the award committee.

Weimer Awarded Grant for 3D Printer Project

February 5, 2015

The research group of Professor Al Weimer was among the recipients of nearly $1.8M from the latest round of Colorado’s Advanced Industry Accelerator Grant Program.

Weimer received a $90,000 Proof of Concept grant for direct ink writing using particle ALD core/shell precursors for net-shape fabrication of 3D advanced ceramic structures.
