The ChBE department was recently awarded support for two graduate training programs through the US Department of Education’s GAANN (Graduate Assistantships in Areas of National Need) initiative. The two awards total more than $1.75 million over 3 years, and will provide exciting new opportunities for students pursuing research in these areas of existing departmental research strength.

The department received a single-discipline award to create a Biomaterials Graduate Program led by Prof. Stephanie Bryant.

ChBE will also co-host the new interdisciplinary Catalysis and Biocatalysis Graduate Program led by Prof. Will Medlin in collaboration with Prof. Niels Damrauer of the Dept. of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
