Norviel Associate Professor Jennifer Cha has been honored as a 2015 Provost’s Faculty Achievement Award winner.

“This award is a great testimony to the impact of Professor Cha’s research,” says College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Dean Robert Davis.

Professor Cha was selected for her work on controlling the spatial organization of nanomaterials and for her use of DNA as the agent to direct nanomaterial organization. Her work has applications ranging from medicine to energy insofar as it provides an effective and ecologically sound means of manufacturing nanomaterials.

The Provost's Faculty Achievement Awards are presented annually to selected faculty who have offered recent significant publication or creative contributions in their academic fields. One award is designed for untenured faculty who are one or two years away from tenure review; a second award is for associate professors who are one to seven years past tenure. Each awardee receives a research grant and a plaque recognizing their achievement.

Previous department winners of this award include Professors Will Medlin, Ryan Gill, Stephanie Bryant and Christine Hrenya.
