Rachel VigerChemical engineering student and varsity Cross Country Team member Rachel Viger has been honored with a number of awards as she finishes up her undergraduate career.

Viger received a University of Colorado 2014 Scholar-Athlete Award for having the highest Senior GPA of a female athlete on the CU Boulder campus. She was also named First Team All-Academic in the NCAA PAC-12 Conference.  

Additionally, Viger received the American Institute of Chemists Undergraduate Award and was honored as a 2014 Distinguished Graduate in Chemical Engineering. She also recently received 1st Place in the Energy Division of the 2013-14 Discovery Learning Apprenticeship Program. 

Viger completed a Senior Thesis in the laboratories of Professor Alan Weimer. Her research involved developing a model for the design of a hybrid solar/electric receiver secondary concentrator to be interfaced to the lab’s new High Flux Solar Simulator.

Upon completion of her undergraduate degree this May, Viger will begin work at ExxonMobil.
