Minutes: 6-22-99Tuesday, June 22,
1999 GENERAL BUSINESS BK: - mentioned that Pauline Hale would be coming on board for a 1/4 time appointment starting sometime in August. - said that he would talk to Ed Ray (Ohio State) about the other 2 potential Ohio State team members suggested by Cecilia Lopez. - re: writing. It had been suggested that someone from program review be asked - (the person in mind was also from Ohio State) so this might not be feasible. - Regarding a writing program for undergrads/graduates: perhaps Chapter 3 would be the appropriate place for this? - talked to S. Avery who will have a draft available this weekend for distribution next Monday. Susan won't be here but hopefully some others from Chapter 3 will be (not to mention we didn't finish Ch 2 today so might not get to Ch 3 next week). CM: - stated that she is working on Chapter 5 but doesn't know how to find evidence of some of the integrity issues. BK mentioned that Pauline Hale had helped to draft the campus diversity plan and therefore would be able to help with this. CHAPTER 2: BK suggested a reorganization of the chapter. Currently, it moves from higher level to lower level. Suggestion was to change this to starting at the chancellor (as the accrediation deals with the chancellor and everything below), then dealing with external and internal units. Other specific comments were given to David Pinkow. Agenda for upcoming meetings: June 29th: Chapter 2 cont., Chapter 3 if time permits July 6th: (most likely) continue Chapter 3 July 13th: Chapter 5 Next NCA Self Study Committee meeting is June 29th, 1-2:00 PM in Regent 302.
