May 25, 1999-Regent 302
2:00-3:00 PM

Present: J. Delaney, B. Kaempfer, D. Pinkow, L. McClelland, and M. Uchiyama

BK stated that a change would have to be made:

Chapter/Criteria

I- is updated
II- draft (incomplete)
III- half-done
IV- draft
V- draft, awaiting input from others, will use some material from Health Sciences

DP would like an updated outline with detailed description of what goes on at Ombuds office.

BK suggested we hire someone to help review report. Kathleen Rogers was suggested since she was a familiar with the project.

L. McClelland suggested Pauline Hale because she has been on campus many years and therefore very knowledgeable. Bill will speak to her.

BK in checking the timetable for the study, Bill commented that we are on schedule and that we cannot fall behind now. Have to move forward.

LM suggested we use a blanket e-mail with direct access to web site (self study part), when we ask for comments on the reports being sent out for review.

BK will call M. Childs at Health Sciences for additional information.

BK stated that one major concern is that committee members read through what has been written.

BK & last 10 year comparison for University:

LM Increase in research/funding

Shift on what is delivered to under graduates

survey results: a) cost more, b) change with times, c) change in students, d) same size 10 years ago

LM stated she would put in 3 pp. of additional information and University changes of past 10 years. Question: where do we put this information: in introduction or can we use it as a briefing item,

suggestion was: will do history side, will take some text, fact sheets of past presidents, vice chancellors and put on a site by itself with enrollment figures dating back to 1887.

BK next meeting: next Tuesday, June 1, 1999, 1-2:00 PM, Regent 302
