The Self-Study Process

Brangwyn introduced Kevin Nolan as the UCB NCA webmaster.  He is in the process of obtaining current and past information from other institutions about their uses of the Web for their self studies.

She distributed an e-mail message from Marc Swadener regarding the meeting on 2-24-98 to talk about putting the self study on the Web.  The committee agreed that we had time to consider the most appropriate Web format and use, since consensus of the people at the 2-24 meeting was the we should not rely solely on the Web for distribution of the self study report.  The committee will ask for data and documents from units on campus to be provided in a common disc format to make it easier to compile.  We will plan to place on the Web the parts of the self study that seem reasonable to provide in that way.   We will also plan to have a hard copy presentation of the self study for the review team.

Brangwyn reported that the List Serve sscnca is up and all member of the committee are on it.

Regarding the reply from the Chancellor on the two questions the committee raised, the committee concluded that Ric or Bill should talk with him directly about the way we should consider Architecture and Planning in this review.

Brangwyn reported that she had contacted Dr. Peter Ewell from NCHEMS to meet with people on campus regarding outcomes assessment.  We would like him to provide some consultation in that area.

The committee could not proceed on its consideration of criteria plans since not all members were present.  In the future Terri will sent out an e-mail message to ask who can and cannot attend the next meeting.
