The University of Colorado at Boulder formally requests continued accreditation from the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Through this Self-Study and accompanying materials, the Boulder campus has:

  • responded to areas of concerns raised by the NCA evaluating team in 1989;
  • demonstrated that the campus meets the General Institutional Requirements; and
  • provided evidence of adhering to the five primary criteria for accreditation outlined in the NCA Handbook.

The campus Self-Study has provided new opportunities for scrutiny of policies and procedures, examination of campus planning processes, and review of resources critical for the university's success. The study process itself has resulted in units taking a fresh look at their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Such a new perspective will play an important role in the campus' strategic planning activities of the future.
