Key Strengths

  • Quality of personnel. The Boulder campus has built a faculty of nationally and internationally recognized scholars, whose achievements in teaching, scholarship, and creative work have enhanced the campus’s learning environment. CU-Boulder staff members bring strong skills and creativity to the operations of the campus.

  • BFA/administration relations. The BFA leadership and members of the campus administration have developed a constructive, open relationship based on mutual respect and collaboration.

  • Administrative teamwork. The chancellor invites participation by a broad range of constituencies in campus leadership and decision making. In particular, the Chancellor’s Executive Committee meets regularly to provide advice on short- and long-term issues.

  • Aggressive growth in fundraising. In the past seven years, the campus has increased its annual fundraising totals from $21.7 million to $56.3 million. As part of the TLE Campaign, the Boulder campus has made organizational changes, committed the time and effort of campus leaders, and focused attention on major-gift development activities.

  • Commitment to student support services. The campus has made student support a high priority through such initiatives as "Designing Student Services for the 21st Century: Student Odyssey."
