Winter Ceremony Caps and Gowns The university commencement ceremony is an academic ceremony, therefore all participants must wear traditional CU academic regalia. Undergraduate Students Undergraduate Students are required to purchase regalia for the ceremony from the CU Book Store, located in the UMC, during regular business hours, or 7:30 a.m. on the morning of the ceremony. Regalia will be available for purchase at the CU Book Store in the lower level at Customer Service beginning Monday October 26, 2009. The cost to purchase the regalia set which includes the gown, cap and degree tassel is $34.95 (plus tax). Regalia is non-returnable once it is purchased. Other souvenir packages are available, please visit the store or website for details. Cash, check, or credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) are accepted. Master's, Doctoral, and Law Students Master's, doctoral, and law students are required to rent academic regalia for the ceremony. Fees for rental of cap, gown, and hood are $36.00 for master's and $45.00 for doctoral and law (includes tam). Rental fee must be paid with cash. To order custom masters or doctorate regalia (you must still rent regalia to walk in the ceremony) please contact Diane Phillips at Willsie Cap and Gown at 303-740-9745 . Rental Times Master's, doctoral, and law students need to rent regalia for the winter ceremony at Fiske Planterium at the following times:
After the winter ceremony, rented regalia (master's, doctoral, and law) must be returned to Fiske Planetarium by 3:00 p.m. on December 18. You may keep your tassel. Any regalia not returned by this time must be returned within three business days to the CU Book Store in the UMC along with the pink copy of your rental agreement. If rental apparel is not returned within three business days you will be charged for the full replacement value. Note: Prices subject to change without notice. |
