Many Independent Learning courses require a midterm examination in addition to quizzes and exercises throughout the course. Most courses require a final examination. Generally, a passing grade is required on the final in order to earn credit for the course.

If you live near Boulder, you may take proctored examinations on the campus of the University of Colorado at Boulder on Fridays (except on holidays) from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm*. This is a time you can drop-in, if you have sent in your exam request form. No exams will be handed out after 2:00 pm on Fridays. Exams are also scheduled by appointment only, Monday through Thursday at 8:00 am, 11:00 am, and 2:00 pm. Please bring a photo ID when taking any exam.

* NOTE - walk in appointments may not be available on Fridays during high volume registration dates. Please call to verify the availability of walk-in examinations when in doubt.
