Honoraria

Instructor/grader pay is prorated according to the number of graded assignments (written assignments and exams) in the course. Payment is processed according to the following schedule: quarterly payments at the end of March, June, September and December. Requests for payment are due on the first day of the payment month, March 1, June 1 and December 1.

Payment requests amounting to less than $20 will be held until that amount is due.

Remember, you are only paid for assignments actually graded. You can do much to motivate students to finish when you return their comments. Many instructors like to write to newly enrolled students when they are notified of a registration. We will pay for this postage if you wish to do that.

University faculty and staff are paid through the University payroll system. The payroll system automatically calculates benefits (health insurance, PERA, TIAA, unemployment, etc.,) and charges our account.

Instructors not otherwise employed by the University are also paid through the payroll system. Federal and state taxes and F.I.C.A. (social security) are withheld as are Meditax deductions. No benefits apply.
