Student Records

A copy of each student's record of registration dates and address will be sent to you upon enrollment. This record contains registration information that you may enter in your grade book or other record-keeping system. We allow 12 months extensions upon a payment of a fee. The extension form is similar to the registration information, and, for all practical purposes, should be treated the same. If you are in doubt about an expiration date, please do not hesitate to call our office.

You will also need to review the form for the Privacy Act. This act provides for confidentiality of student records. It effectively protects that information about a student from release. Grades and comments obviously have to be reported to the student, and grades are reported to the Independent Study office. They should not be reported to anyone else.

Students who contact you for official notice of grades should be directed to the transcript office. Refer the students to the transcript information contained in the syllabus. Grades cannot be given via phone.
