Online
Interaction
or Isolation?
Students do not have to feel isolated when working online. Through the
interaction with peers, instructors, mentors, subject matter experts,
and tutors via telephone, US Postal Servicel, and email, students may
receive more individual feedback and assistance than they would in a
traditional university classroom.
One
of the first issues you may want to raise in your online course is the
respect in communications that each learner needs to share within the
course. You may even want to email your students links to "Netiquette,"
the politeness and politics of email. Here are a few site examples:
