You must read the following exam
rules and guidelines before downloading the exam.
Rules
- The exam will be available by noon,
Saturday, May 3.
- The exam must be returned to my office (under
my door, or emailed to me) by 4 pm,
Wednesday, May 7.
Do not return the exam in my
department mailbox or the box outside my door.
- You have available the entire time to complete the exam. The exam is designed for about a
6-hour period.
- The exam is "open-book" -- any
assistance from papers, books, notes, problem sets, old exams, web data, and any other source
of written knowledge is allowed.
- Data for the exam must be obtained only
from SGI (2002), this year's lectures, this year's problem sets, or
this exam. If necessary, values of Kow and aqueous
solubility, but not pKa, can be estimated using ALOGPS.
- The exam is "closed-colleague" --
assistance from your fellow students, professors, or any other person is
forbidden.
- All questions about the exam must be
emailed to me (joseph.ryan@colorado.edu)
before 9 pm, Wednesday, May 9, to ensure that you will receive a reply.
I will distribute my replies to the class email list.
- You must sign the University
of Colorado Honor Code and return
this cover page with the exam. If you do not sign the pledge, I will
assume that you did not follow the rules listed above while taking the exam.
Academic misconduct will dealt with according
to University rules.
Before returning the exam, you will have to sign this
pledge:
"On my honor, as a University of Colorado
student, I have neither given nor received unauthorized assistance on this work."
By downloading the exam, you agree
to abide by these rules and guidelines during the exam.
