2. Estimate the pH of a suspension of boehmite in equilibrium with the atmosphere (PCO2 = 10-3.46 bar). The boehmite concentration is 5 g L-1 and its surface area is 30 m2 g-1. The surface site (>Al-OH) density is 0.30 C m-2. The pKa values for boehmite are 7 pH units apart. Assume that carbonate species do not interact with the surface.
