Ms. Javernick Will's Biography Amy Javernick Will joins the Construction Engineering and Management program faculty at University of Colorado at Boulder as an assistant professor in spring 2010. Interested in the design, planning and management of project-based organizations with a focus on global organizations and emerging issues in the industry, she is currently conducting research with a number of real estate developers, contractors and engineers to understand how global project-based firms mobilize the knowledge required for their international projects. The goals of the project are to understand how global firms acquire knowledge of a local area and how they transfer this knowledge globally to other project teams. Prior to starting her Ph.D. at Stanford University, Amy gained more than six years of industry experience in construction and real estate. Most recently, she worked as a project manager for Opus Northwest, LLC. In this role, Amy managed the design and construction of commercial development projects throughout the greater Denver area. Amy’s experience will play an instrumental role in her classes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her integrated development class draws from her time in industry, teaching students how to manage the life cycle of a project, including development, design, construction and operations, to meet budget, scope, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction goals. In addition, she will draw from her research to teach a new class that addresses the interdisciplinary drivers of change in the build environment, focusing on globalization, sustainability and other organizational and managerial issues. Amy is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Design Build Institute of America, and the U.S. Green Building Council. She holds a Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate and is a LEED accredited professional. At the University of Colorado, she plans to participate in service activities and committees on the program’s behalf. |
