Dr. Javernick-Will's Biography Dr. Amy Javernick-Will is an Assistant Professor in the Construction Engineering and Management Program in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Javernick-Will is an alumna of the program, having earned her B.S. and M.S. in 1999 and 2001 respectively. Dr. Javernick-Will completed her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Stanford University in the Construction Engineering and Management Program. Prior to starting her Ph.D. at Stanford University, Amy gained more than six years of industry experience in construction and real estate. Most recently, she worked as a project manager for Opus Northwest, LLC. In this role, Amy managed the design and construction of commercial development projects throughout the greater Denver area. Dr. Javernick-Will's research interests include the design, planning and management of project-based organizations with a focus on global organizations and projects, knowledge management, sustainabiliy and innovative project delivery models. Dr. Javernick-Will's experience will play an instrumental role in her classes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her Design Development class draws from her time in industry, teaching students how to manage the life cycle of a project, including development, design, construction and operations, to meet budget, scope, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction goals. Her Global Projects and Organizations class draws from her ongoing research to address globalization and the challenges that confront project participants of international and global projects, as well as other drivers of change impacting projects today including social movements and sustainability. Dr. Javernick-Will also teaches an undergraduate course on Planning and Scheduling. Amy is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Construction Research Council, Design Build Institute of America, and the U.S. Green Building Council. She holds a Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate and is a LEED accredited professional. She serves as a peer-reviewer for the American Society of Civil Engineers Journal of Construction Engineering and Management and the Journal of Construction Management and Economics. |
