- Upcoming Workshops
Colorado teachers can take advantage of TEA's annual program of workshops on East Asia throughout the school year. Workshops feature faculty experts from various Colorado institutions and devote equal time to "best practices" presentations by experienced classroom teachers.
Saturday, February 21, 2015: Engaging Students in International Issues: The Choices Approach. The Program for Teaching East Asia is hosting this one-day workshop sponsored by the Choices Program at Brown University. Led by Choices Teaching Fellows Michelle Van Sickle and Rebekah Nesbitt, both classroom teachers and TEA alums, this participatory workshop will:
- Introduce the Choices Program's award-winning resources and approach to teaching about contested international issues; and
- Examine and work with the Choices units China on the World Stage: Weighing the U.S. Response and U.S. Immigration Policy in an Unsettled World (provided).
Cost $145.00 per person. The first 10 full-time classroom teachers to register will receive a subsidized price of $95, thanks to UC Boulder's Program for Teaching East Asia and NCTA.
