Kristen Freaney is the Assistant Director, Professional Skills & Programs here at the Leeds School of Business. She directs the Professional Mentorship Program (PMP), which matches over 650 junior and senior-level students with over 700 professional mentors in one-on-one partnerships. The PMP is one of the largest, formalized mentoring programs in the country and helps students develop critical soft skills and industry connections as they prepare to make the leap from college to career. In addition to managing the PMP, Kristen develops and oversees the professional development curriculum that is delivered in the BASE course, a business requirement for all Leeds sophomores.
Kristen is a Chicago native, who earned her BA in Human Development Psychology and Community Psychology from DePaul University. Before coming to Colorado, she helped oversee Employer Relations at DePaul University’s Career Center, managing career fairs, networking events, and other campus recruiting initiatives for DePaul’s 24,000+ student population. When she’s not working, Kristen can be found playing with her dogs, Buttercup and Fez, or training for her next marathon along the gorgeous trails in and around Boulder.
