Julie Schiro is a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in Marketing at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her research seeks to highlight prevalent marketing missteps, from the (often counterproductive) application of humorous appeals in social marketing communications to the misinterpretation of data visuals in the boardroom. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in business and an emphasis in marketing and entrepreneurship. Prior to joining the program, she spent a year working in entertainment market research.
